Water Supply
　　At present, Xi’an is abundant in water supply, and its daily water supply capacity has reached 1.92 million m3, which makes it the only metropolis in north China free from water shortage. High quality surface water from deep root of Mt. Qinling has become the major water source for the city, providing high quality water and ensuring 100% passing rate of sources of urban drinking water for 8 consecutive years. In addition, Xi’an is currently working on a number of projects of Qianjishi Reservoir, Lijiahe Reservoir, etc. to explore new water sources, which can ensure the water supply for Xi’an during a relatively long period of time. In 2004, the total water supply in Xi’an was 361 million m3,of which 292 million m3,water was supplied by Xi’an City Tap Water Company.
